Slimming World Spaghetti Carbonara
A Slimming World Spaghetti Carbonara recipe… can it be true?! Certainly is and its Syn free when you use your Healthy A allowance!
I haven’t posted in a while so I thought I’d post a belter of a recipe for all of you Slimming World lovers. And what better way to break the silence than with this super Slimming World Spaghetti Carbonara recipe. It’s my take on a classic Spaghetti Carbonara but I’ve used some excellent elements form Jamie Oliver’s “Skinny Carbonara” from his Everyday Super Foods book. Its a great book which works well for Slimming World with a few adaptations. Keeping with the ethos that one third of your plate should be filled with speed foods, I’ve taken heed of that by using one third of my DIY Courgette Spaghetti. If you don’t want to use courgette then feel free to exclude but be sure to chuck in some other speed veg of your choosing. (more…)
Courgette Spaghetti? Really?? Courgette instead of pasta?? That was my response when the wife told me about this when coming home from Slimming World one night. I couldn’t bring myself to get excited about cooking a typical pasta dish and replacing the pasta with a low calorie “Speed” food. I saw the logic behind why you would want to it but pasta is comforting, has great texture and is a great carrier of flavour. I could’t see how Courgette Pasta would give me the same gratification as a normal pasta dinner. Last night I decided to give it a try. Would it be good or would my instincts be right? (more…)
Healthy Onion Bhaji Low Fat Recipe
I love an onion bhaji and whats more I love a Healthy Onion Bhaji! The problem is that most onion bhaji’s are not low fat and are not healthy so eating them on a diet is a big no-no. Lovely onion mixed in a spiced batter and then deep fried until crispy is a perfect accompaniment to any Indian curry so I need to come up with a Healthy Onion Bhaji Low Fat Recipe. I’ve got a cracking and quick deep fried onion bhaji recipe but the problem is that they are just to damn unhealthy when your trying to lose weight so the recipe I’ve got wasn’t appropriate for my needs.
